Canterbury Large Exporter of the Year Finalist

Enztec has become a finalist in the 2008 Canterbury Export Awards, an annual event which honours inventive and bold exporters who meet the challenge of bringing New Zealand excellence to the world.

While Enztec would be considered small in global orthopaedic industry as a whole, their strength in the smart design of orthopaedic medical devices means their products are used in operating theatres all over the world to help surgeons give people mobility without pain.

Stephen O’Neill, General Manger says that on a global scale Enztec’s market share is small, but growing, as we offer the large organisations a unique centre of innovation and creativity that they cannot access easily within their own companies.

“Our design capability is allied to our manufacturing resource and this is something no commonly seen in the industry.”

As a first time entrant in the export awards Enztec were surprised to be a finalist in not only the large exporter of the year award but also the deal of the year award categories.

“It’s recognition to our staff for all the great work they have done, and continue to do, to make this company a success.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held on Wednesday 30th July.
