Tibial Impactor

Client
DePuy International

The Need
DePuy approached the Enztec team with a problem faced by local surgeons and specialists alike. They expressed the need for a device that would be able to manipulate and impact a cemented Tibial tray.

There was a need for a manufacturer with strong industry experience and independence to carry out this complex task. Enztec came through with a solution; a sophisticated, high quality device that would achieve recognition and prestige far beyond the local market

The Solution
Primary development of the project was funded by Enztec and a prototype solution was presented. This incorporated all the specified functional requirements, while expressing a unique, surgeon-driven design. An initial run of development samples were commissioned by the client and these were launched with great success in the local medical community. From there, the instrument’s success grew, achieving satisfying clinical recognition at an international level.

This product incorporated high quality materials and sophisticated workmanship in a simple, yet effective way. It’s just another example of dedicated manufacturing excellence by Enztec. While Enztec maintain the IP, this remains exclusive to the single client.

The Outcome
The client has a successful solution, without having to develop it themselves, yet one that remains specific to them, enhancing the loyalty of surgeons within this area to their product range. The result is a high quality instrument that meets tough regulatory and internal compliance standards.

There has already been excellent response to this simple, successful product but the potential for global sales potential for this Australasian project is huge.

The quality of thinking, design skills and manufacturing capability were exactly what we were hoping for when we approached Enztec…and they didn’t let us down. We are extremely pleased with the end result and the process we shared.”
